So its been a while since I updated this! I'm sorry about that. We have been working hard to get things in order for this semester. We have a lot of irons in the fire so to speak. To get started I would like to say congratulations. We are only 5 points behind the Achiever's club in campus activity points! We have made some changes to our officer team, we welcome Carine as Parlimentarian. She will also be assuming some of Zakiya's duties as VP of Fellowship. Congratulations to Zakiya for moving ahead with her education. We would also like to congratulate the 400+ eligible members this semester. Please be sure to encourage membership acceptance in your class rooms! We will be having new member orientation on February 10th. See the calendar for specifics. Also the induction will be March 13th. We have a tenative schedule for the visit to the VA Hospital. More details to come. We have a candy sale and the big Yard sale coming up. If you have items to donate or would like to help out on the 21st. Please send us an e-mail! I know its a lot of info to absorb, but feel fee to ask questions!

We will be publishing our next edition of the Florida Regional Newsletter, The Athenian on September 15th! We have had some officer changes, congrats to Tiara and Belle! We also have a new advisor for Better World Books, Mr. Siegle.
What is Nu Iota?
The Nu Iota Chapter is the two-year honor society for Indian River State College located in Fort Pierce, Florida. We strive to aide the members, the college, and the community to the best of our abilities. The purpose of Nu Iota chapter of Phi Theta Kappa is to recognize and encourage scholarship among Indian River students. Phi Theta Kappa provides opportunity for the development of leadership and service, for an intellectual climate for exchange of ideas and ideals, for lively fellowship for scholars, and for stimulation of interest in continuing academic excellence.
